2009 MLS Schedule
With the spring just around the corner, the Major League Soccer (MLS) has released the 2009 Schedule. The season opener, on Thursday, March 19th will be the first ever MLS game for the Seattle Sounders as the 2008 MLS Cup finalists New York Red Bulls goes to Seattle to introduce them to the league. The opener will be at 9pm (EST) and will be televised live on ESPN2.
The 15 MLS teams will each have 30 regular season games. The MLS Cup Playoffs, which is the postseason tournament, will begin on October 29th with the MLS Cup following on November 21-22. Eight teams from the two conferences will qualify for the tournament based on regular season records. The playoffs end with the championship game, the MLS Cup.
