With people being so busy with work schedules and family life, it can be very difficult to find time to take a weeknight or weekend coaching course. Luckily, MASS Youth Soccer now offers an online G coaching course! This new method of providing instruction online will reach more coaches and help advance their education, which is the mission of Sideline Soccer!
With the spring just around the corner, the Major League Soccer (MLS) has released the 2009 Schedule. The season opener, on Thursday, March 19th will be the first ever MLS game for the Seattle Sounders as the 2008 MLS Cup finalists New York Red Bulls goes to Seattle to introduce them to the league. Can you believe the planning for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup is already in the works? February 2nd is the final date for potential hosts to register to be considered. Each country has until March 16 to submit a bid on one tournament or both, and then they have until December 2009 to submit detailed applications in the form of a binding hosting agreement. Did you know that Ramon Unzaga of Chile was the first player to perform a bicycle kick? It is a very difficult kick where a player throws his/her body in the air, while moving the legs in a scissor like motion, in order to kick the ball backwards over their head. Ramon first performed this kick in 1914 at El Morro Stadium in Talcahuano, Chile.
