Did you know that the most penalty shots needed in a game was 48? During the 2005 Namibian Cup between KK Palace and Civics, 48 penalty shots were used to decide the game! Several players took 3 penalty shots each. I wonder how many fans stuck around to watch the whole thing?!

I remember in high school we used to play a game where if you got nutmegged, you owed a bagel to the person who nutmegged you. Let me tell you there were quite a few free bagels being passed around! Well unfortunately for Wayne Rooney, he gets nutmegged during a Nike commercial shoot by some younger player. I heard from a little birdie that Sideline Soccer is now on Twitter!

Is this the next big star to hit the professional soccer fields in the future? This little six year old French-Algerian has such talent and skill it’s a little scary. But I’m sure there are professional teams out there with their eyes on him already. He’s got a long way to go until he can play with the big boys and a lot can change. The Women’s Gold Cup is basically the Gold Cup, but for the women! The winner is considered the Women’s CONCACAF champion. The tournament happens every two years and the champions then go on to qualify for the Women’s World Cup. The U.S. Women’s National Team have won the past few times, making them the most successful women’s team in the CONCACAF Confederation.
