2010 MLS Schedule
The Major League Soccer (MLS) has released the entire 2010 regular season schedule. The season opener, on Thursday, March 25th will be the first ever MLS game for the Philadelphia Union, the League’s 16th team, against Seattle Sounders which will begin its second season. The opener will be at 9:30pm (EST) and will be televised live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN360.com.
The 16 MLS teams will each have 30 regular season games and for the first time in League history, each team will play each of the other 15 clubs once at home and once away, for a balanced season. The MLS Cup Playoffs, which is the postseason tournament, will begin on October 24th with the MLS Cup following on October 28-30. Eight teams from the two conferences will qualify for the tournament based on regular season records. The playoffs end with the championship game, the MLS Cup, which will be held on Sunday November 21st.
