2010 World Cup: USA vs England Review

USA probably didn’t plan to be one goal down within 5 minutes of the first half. Steven Gerrard found himself unmarked and found the back of the net giving England a quick lead in the game. I came across the following quote from a book I’ve been reading recently: “It takes more talent to score than to stop other people from scoring”. In terms of money, forwards do tend to make more money than defenders. But is it true that those who do the scoring are more talented than those who try and stop the scoring? What are your thoughts?

Did you know that the 1994 World Cup Final was the first World Cup final to go to penalty shots? It was Brazil vs Italy and Roberto Baggio of Italy needed to score, but unfortunately kicked the ball high over the net. Brazil won their fourth World Cup.

Two brothers, Benito and Giuseppe Panini, founded Panini in 1961, a company which produces books, comics, magazines, stickers and more. One of their most popular products are the World Cup Sticker Albums, which started with the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. This year’s 2010 South Africa World Cup Sticker Album will have over 70 pages with over 600 images, including images of individual players, teams, badges, and stadiums.
