The U.S. Soccer Federation has formally announced intentions to bid for hosting the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. FIFA will determine the hosts in December of 2010. 11 other candidates have posted bids. They are Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, Australia, Indonesia, England, Russia, Egypt, Spain/Portugal, and the Netherlands/Belgium. Do you think that the US has a chance to host one of the upcoming world cups? Some believe that England has the best chance for 2018. Does the USA have a better chance for 2022?
The USA Men’s National Team and Nike are asking for all fans across the country to show their support for the team by wearing red this Wednesday, February 11th for the USA vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifier. Nike wants all fans to join their “Don’t Tread on the Red” Campaign. They are hoping that not only all fans wear red, but the ones at the game as well, to create a “Red Out”. The game is to help the USA qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Kickoff will be at 7:00 PM ET and will be shown on ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and Univision. So show your pride and wear RED!
There will be games where your team will be overpowered by a very skilled opponent. And during those games it will become very aggravating to watch the opposing team score goal after goal.
