Yesterday was a big soccer day for Sideline Soccer! We went to a triple header at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. After some great food and drinks from our tailgate party (thanks Charley!), we headed in for the first match between New England Revolution and Kansas City Wizards. Not much to report from that game except that it was a 0-0 tie with not much action at all. Continue reading
It was the first time the USA Men’s National Team has ever made it to a FIFA tournament final. From the start of the tournament, no one thought they’d ever make it this far. They lost 3-1 against Italy in the first game and 3-0 against Brazil in the second game. Continue reading

This year’s FIFA Confederations Cup will be held June 14th – 28th in South Africa. The FIFA Confederations Cup is a preliminary for the FIFA World Cup. The eight teams that will be playing are the winners of each of the six FIFA confederation champions (USA, Brazil, Egypt, Spain, Iraq, and New Zealand), Italy, the 2006 FIFA World Cup winner and the host country, South Africa.

The next World Cup Qualifier for the USA will be on June 3rd against Costa Rica. The game in Costa Rica will be held at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma or simply known by U.S. fans as “Saprissa”, which can hold 24,000 people. Continue reading

The Women’s Gold Cup is basically the Gold Cup, but for the women! The winner is considered the Women’s CONCACAF champion. The tournament happens every two years and the champions then go on to qualify for the Women’s World Cup. The U.S. Women’s National Team have won the past few times, making them the most successful women’s team in the CONCACAF Confederation.
