Lace up for AIDS
March 8, 2010 | Halftime Report | Add a comment
Nike is sponsoring the Red Laces Campaign for AIDS in Africa. Nike is selling Red LacesĀ and will contribute 100% of its profits to the Global Fund and to soccer-based programs that help fight AIDS in Africa.
The Funds are received by programs like Grassroots Soccer, which uses football as a framework to teach youths how to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS. Funds are also contributed to The Global Fund to fund HIV/AIDS programs that support the purchase of lifesaving Antiretroviral (ARV) medication, training of medical staff, HIV testing and treatment to help prevent the transmission of the virus from pregnant mothers to their babies.
You can contribute to the campaign just by lacing up a pair of shoelaces in your favorite cleats… or shoes.
You can purchase NIKE RED laces for $4 and other RED products online at nike.com or find a store near you.
Since the start, RED partners and events have generated over $135 million to the Global Fund and the number keeps growing.
Check it out and strap on some red laces today!
