US advance to Confederation Cup Semifinals!

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while right? The US Men’s National Team had been nothing but blind during the Confederations Cup. They lost 3-1 against Italy and 3-0 against Brazil. Yes I know, playing against soccer giants like Italy and Brazil would not be easy, but why show up if you’re not going to play?

I think it’s safe to say that all of us thought USA would not make it to the next round. I mean having to win by at least 3 goals against Egypt and have Brazil beat Italy by at least 3 goals would take a miracle. Well, the moon and stars were aligned perfectly and looks like they found their nuts! Although, the referee almost squashed their hopes with a missed call on a penalty shot. Wow, not sure if he was paid off or what, but that was inexcusable.

Anyways, USA came out strong and stayed strong through the whole game against Egypt. Finally! Why didn’t you guys do that from the beginning?! Well, they better take that momentum into the next round. Playing Spain in the semifinals is not going to be easy. Spain went undefeated in the prior round and no one was able to score a goal on them.

Maybe if we don’t expect them to win, they’ll win again?! Go USA!
