Starting the 2009 season, Major League Soccer (MLS) will welcome its 15th team, the Seattle Sounders! Established in 1994, the Seattle Sounders have been in the United Soccer League for the past 15 years and will make their MLS debut in March of 2009.
So far the Sounders have signed three players including American goalkeeper Kasey Keller, French striker Sebastien Le Toux and Gambian midfielder Sanna Nyassi. There is also a possibility that Swedish midfielder Freddie Ljungberg will be signed as the designated player.
On November 26th, there will be an expansion draft in which 10 of the 14 current teams will lose a player to the new Seattle team, which may not receive more than one player from any given team in MLS. Other players will come from the USL, national and international teams and the college draft next year.

a) Is this the team owned by comedian Drew Carey?
b) the Nyassi you speak of… the Revs have a Sainey Nyassi, did you misspell his name or is this another Nyassi (possibly a brother)? On October 28, 2008 Jake Becker said
a) Yes! Partially anyways… The majority of the team is owned by Joe Roth and Paul Allen (Microsoft co-founder). It also has many other minority owners including Drew Carey.
b)And the Sounders’ Sanna Nyassi is in fact the TWIN brother of the Revs’ player Sainey Nyassi.
